High School HeroesX is excited to announce our X-Prize inspired Visioneering event to be held at the Haverford School on Sunday October 26th. At the event, students from many Philadelphia-area high schools will first hear from James Thompson, a renowned Wharton Professor on social entrepreneurism and author of “The Social Entrepreneur’s Playbook.” After hearing him speak, members of the HeroX team will assist the students as they break up into small groups where they will deliberate the challenge they believe should be selected. Challenge ideas already posted by students on our HeroX High School challenge website, which can be found at www.herox.com/highschool, include ideas such as decreasing plastic water bottle and plastic bag use in the community to finding a more eco-efficient road salt. Each group will present their top choice, and the students will then vote on the winning challenge idea. Other possible guests include Al Jazeera anchor and member of the X-Prize board Ali Velshi and Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman.
If you would like to come to the event, please RSVP here: (https://www.facebook.com/events/1465995083677115/?context=create&source=49). If you can not attend, High School HeroesX will be live streaming the event to www.herox.com/highschool.
